Will it fly?

Pick a material, fly a life — read the fatigue. Build a surrogate from a material and a life mission, fly it through a simulated service life, and see where it cracks. No personal data. The model runs the same fatigue stack used on real structures: rainflow → Walker S-N → Palmgren-Miner.

Predict, then verify. This is the surrogate model — it predicts where you'd crack, before you commit. The matching full-scale test is the Hindsight 80/20 fatigue analysis, run on your own logged history. Analysis predicts; the test confirms it. They pair — they never overlap.

Step 1 Pick your material

Your seven Mind My Material archetypes — the material families. Each chip carries a specific real material (shown on the chip) with its own S-N curve, endurance limit (or none), and the way it hides or shows damage. Metals lets you choose the specific metal.

Step 2 Pick a mission

A life path, read as a load spectrum. There's no best material — only the right load path for each one.

Each mission is four rainflow bins — stress amplitude and mean as a fraction of the material’s UTS, with a yearly cycle count. The dashed line is UTS; only the Sailplane / Monk block stays well clear of it, while Transport rides near it on a high mean and the Aerobatic shock spike crosses it. Pick a mission above to highlight its spectrum.

A season is usually a blend: 60% Transport, 25% Fighter, 15% Depot. Allocate yours — the sliders normalize to 100% — and fly the blended spectrum. In Hindsight Daily you can declare the same mix and check it against the spectrum you actually flew.
